Backstory of the “MeetUp” (How It All Started?)
The TRCDistro MeetUp: DMV Collab Sessions has its roots in the collaborative efforts of the #VoiseyRoyalty Compilation Album by #RoyaltyCollection, which emerged from a series of PullUpSessions in Atlanta, the DMV, Houston, and Philadelphia during the summer of 2021. This initiative brought together a diverse collective of artists and producers, ultimately leading to the release of VoiseyRoyalty a 26-song compilation album and "Social Disturbance" a movie soundtrack as the 1st & 2nd projects under TRCDistro. The project served as a bridge between music communities, fostering creative synergy and cross-regional collaboration.
Building on the success of this compilation, TRCDistro recognized the need for an ongoing platform to unite and elevate artists in the DMV region. This realization led to the launch of the DMV Collab Sessions, designed to provide artists and producers with networking opportunities, hands-on collaboration, and industry insight. The first official event, held February 21-23, 2025, featured networking sessions, industry panels, collaborative music production, and live performances. This inaugural gathering laid the foundation for a structured, quarterly series of events, aiming to strengthen the regional music ecosystem and amplify independent talent on a larger scale.
